This week we’re talking about DACA (or Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals). More specifically, we’re talking about that guy in the white house and the department of justice’s decision to end the Obama administration’s protection for undocumented  “illegal immigrants”. The DREAMers (as they’re called because of the D.R.E.A.M. [Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors] act) were basically notified that in 6 short months, they would be eligible for deportation. The “reasoning” for this move is ” driven by a concern for “the millions of Americans victimized by this unfair system” and “the program had “denied jobs to hundreds of thousands of Americans by allowing those same illegal aliens to take those jobs.” We spent the better part of an hour giving our views on the subject, but mostly, we gave our reasoning as to why we think this is a bad move, why this clearly has other motivations and what we think will result from all of this.
