In this episode, Mia And Ty discuss whether the diets African Americans tend to have are killing us slowly or is this an over-exaggeration of the effects of cultural norms. Is it possible soul foods like: collard greens, ham hocks, and fried foods are our downfall? More importantly, we discuss ways to pivot to healthier options (such as the ketogenic or low carb diet, which certainly has it’s positive effects like rapid weight loss, but also negatives) that may just save your waistband and your life.  We acknowledged the cultural, environmental and familial factors that may lead to unhealthy diets and obesity in the black community, but also we give personal stories about our struggles with trying to eat healthier in this supersized everything society.
